What is O2 Secure Wireless Internet? O2 Secure Wireless “shares the air” by providing an internet connection through the air via Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity), instead of over cables or telephone lines.

How fast is O2 Secure Wireless Internet? You can expect speeds of up to 11Mbps. This is up to 8 times faster than a cable modem, up to 20 times faster than DSL, and up to 200 times faster than dial-up!

How secure is my data sent over the wireless network? Our equipment uses the same "frequency hopping" technology that is utilized by the military. Your login and password prevents anyone from accessing your account, and each port on the network is private and secure. Your computer and network address are behind a firewall that prevents other wireless users from seeing your data. We do recommend that all computers connected to the internet also have virus protection software installed.

Where can I use the wireless internet? Anywhere in the immediate area. Common areas, decks, residences and some nearby venues are covered by our wireless signal as well.

How do I cancel my service? If you wish to cancel your service, please contact our Customer Support Department at least 24 hours before your next billing date. They are available 24x7 at 1-866-502-0052 Option 1.

Do I need to install any software to connect to the network? Nothing new needs to be installed on your computer unless you need software required for your wireless LAN card. All recent operating systems (such as Windows XP and Mac OS X) have wireless network capability built-in. You only need a web browser to log in.

What should I do if I have a problem with my service? The wireless system is constantly monitored to ensure that the network is solid and functional. Support is available if you need it, either by email or telephone. Contact us at support@o2securewireless.net or 866-502-0052 any time with your questions.

What will affect my signal strength? Although rare, some 2.4GHz cordless phones, neighboring wireless access points and microwave ovens can sometimes cause radio interference, but shouldn't prevent you from getting online. Walls and obstacles (metal surfaces) can occasionally limit the network from reaching your computer with the strongest signal as well.

How am I billed for this service? When you register for service, you provide a credit card number along with your login information. Your credit card will be billed at the beginning of each month for your internet service.

Do I have to sign a contract? No! Unlilke traditional internet services, our service is a month-by-month committment. You are never locked in to a long-term service contract.

What are the System Requirements for the O2 Secure Wireless Internet Service?
For all systems: You will need either a PCMCIA card, USB or built-in adapter that is IEEE 802.11b / 802.11g Wi-Fi certified for wireless LAN.
Higher-powered wireless adapters can be purchased directly from O2 Secure Wireless.
