Secure Wireless
We're concerned about security so much, it's our name. We provide many safeguards to users, such as optional encryption, port isolation, network address translation and network firewalling.
O2 Secure Wireless Security Statement
O2 Secure Wireless provides the following Security Statement as a means to inform existing and potential users about the security features and limitations of our wireless services.
The O2 Secure Wireless service is based upon a wireless technology standard that is constantly evolving and therefore is not inherently secure. Therefore, O2 Secure Wireless has implemented every effort to secure our networks, including port isolation, optional encryption, RADIUS authentication and advanced firewalls. Due to other limitations, O2 Secure Wireless can not and will not guarantee the privacy of your data and communications while using the service from any of our network locations. Wireless LAN’s (local area networks), such as those used by O2 Secure Wireless, transmit data through the air. These transmissions may be intercepted by equipment and software designed to do so.
However, at all O2 Secure Wireless network locations, any payment information, which includes your credit card, that you sent to us via our website, is encrypted using secure socket layer ("SSL") technology for your protection. SSL encryption technology prevents unauthorized persons from reading all information transmitted through the SSL connection. Be advised that other communications transmitted through the O2 Secure Wireless networks may not be encrypted (unless specified), and therefore may be susceptible to illicit attempts to access data or software.
O2 Secure Wireless suggests that all users take the necessary precautions to secure their devices and Internet communications. We actively encourage and support user-provided security solutions, including virtual private networks (VPN's), encryption and personal firewalls. It is the user's responsibility to provide the security measures best suited to their situation and their intended use of the service. Though supported, O2 Secure Wireless cannot guarantee or otherwise be responsible for the effectiveness of any user-provided security solutions.
This statement is not intended to cover all Internet related security issues or risks. Any computer device exchanging data over a wireless network, or otherwise, is vulnerable to security risks such as viruses, Trojan horses, and denial of service attacks. To best avoid these hazards, we encourage users to use other resources, such as the Internet, your local library, or bookstores, to find comprehensive information concerning these and other security issues.
O2 Secure Wireless may update this Security Statement from time to time without notification. Please be sure to check back regularly for updates.
